After I took this photo and test drove K9 on his new base I realised that I had made a mistake and put the drive wheels at the back, they really need to go at the front so he is pulled around not pushed. This way he will move over objects much easier and second look more natural in its movement.. Because I have designed the base in such a way and the body clips onto it I can turn the base easily, more luck than judgement.
You can also see the nice blue skate wheel, so much better than a normal caster. The batteries have been mounted over the motors to keep them planted on the ground and avoid any wheelies or tips due to the single rear wheel.
