K7 of 9 DrWho/ StarTrek

I made my first K9 many years ago as an Arts degree project The second was a computer case mod, more of a homage to K9 than a replica. The third was a full size replica with all the working gadgets and more. After attending a number of public events and noticing that K9 replica builds seemed to be coming family common place I decided to take my K9 back to the drawing board. With an unnatural interest in StarTrek the new K9 design was easy. Say hello to K7 of 9.

K9. Work on the head

I decided to go for a direct cog drive on the ears. A single servo will provide power and control giving the opperator complete control. I moved away from my first motor drive idea mainly because I did not want the ears just turning on their own, having control adds so much more expression.

Now the ears work and the Red face LED's glows I can move on to the laser gun.
