I am still in two minds over the top panel. The side window is now sorted and I have ordered a digital photo frame that will be mounted behing it. Using the photo frame I will also be able to play K9 voices and trigge them using the supplied remote. I am not to sure how loud the sound will be from the photo frame so may need to add a small amplified and larger speakers, we will see.
The problem I am having with the top pannel is the large square switches. I have built an LED chaser circuit to make the top LED's flash randomly and this will be mounted behing the top panel. I am unable to find the large switches anywere on-line so instead have decided to make my own out of thin coloured perspex. I was considering have a bit of fun and upgrading K9's panel to a touch screen, bringing him into the 21st century but have decided for now to got with the original design seeing how it was so iconic.
Now that the clear coat has dried I am now much happier with the colour. I was sure that I did not want to go with the newer metalic blue colour scheme of the MKIII/IV but keep with the original grey of the MKI. The only issue I had was that the grey looked a bit flat and lifeless but with the top coat now looks more metal like, cant wait to start the weathering.
